Fog
Woke to fog. Painted anyway because I could still see the shore of the island and fog makes the lichen on the trees extra bright. I set up under the tarp in the cockpit of our sailboat to avoid fog dripping off the rigging over my head onto my painting. Drips add random fog spots to watercolors. Weird noises came out of the fog from the half tide rocks astern. Raven? Heron? Seal? Skogg monster? (Anyone else read Island of the Skogg to their kids?) Later, we rowed ashore in the dinghy and hiked through the spruce woods to the granite ledges on the far shore. The fog was lifting in Jericho Bay and we saw a thin line of sparkling bright water over by Isle o'Haut. Just beautiful. There were lots of fairy houses along the trail.
