Maine has a lot of granite ledge between the dirt and the sea water, with a surprising number of impossible seeming trees growing out on it, anchoring both the edge of the land and the tree with its twisted back roots. This one has seaweed all around it and hanging off its branches. I painted sitting on the ledges trying to keep the dog out of the poison ivy. We're anchored in a sheltered bay waiting for the seas from hurricane Erin to die down.
