Woke up to fog. The prediction for the day is fog heavy at times. That's ok - we'll have a lay day and walk and play games. And try to paint more tall spruces. The old man's beard is so bright in the fog! Dripping rigging and watercolors don't mix. One drip and there's now a large blank spot on your painting. Maybe pretend it's a patch of fog? Which it literally is, but hard to explain to the viewer. We still had the tarp rigged from yesterday's rain, and that helps but fog also keeps the paint from drying. Fortunately, I tend to paint with fewer layers than most watercolorists so I can manage. As I am painting, weird grating noises come from the tidal rocks astern. Raven? Heron? Seal? Skogg? I fail to get anyone else aboard to hear it. My bird app says it isn't a bird but it is absolutely amazing what I can hear that the app can't, so who knows? In the end, I did get my painting to dry enough that it isn't all little white paper dams.
