The Boulevard in Gloucester is a walk with many joys - lots of dogs and boats to watch, a drawbridge to cross, gardens. It also is a walk with many sorrows - the famous Gloucester Fisherman's memorial, the one to the families waiting for the boats to return, various wars, and a big white anchor that is the merchant mariners memorial. The anchor is surrounded by beautiful day lilies. I sat on the granite curbing one summer day and painted these.
