We always visit Myakka when we fly down to Florida to visit my mother-in-law. My father-in-law first took me there to "show you the real Florida". The real Florida is a weird and wonderful place to New England eyes. Very Dr. Seuss. I wonder if he based the vegetation in his books on the fantastical vegetation he saw in Florida.
