Hurricane Eduardo, happily, passed well out to sea for us, but we couldn't be entirely sure about that, and even well out to sea, we were likely to have to wait out swells and fog. Northeast Harbor on Mt. Desert is a fun place to spend some time. It has a bath house, ice, water, and fuel, washing machines, a grocery store within walking distance, cousins and friends to visit, and some lovely gardens and hikes. We got all our chores done and then spent our time painting. We went up Asticou Terraces, a series of stone steps up the side of a steep hill. I've been intrigued by them since I was a child and set various bits of The Lord of the Rings here in my imagination. They have a series of tea houses on the way up, each with a spectacular view. We took over one to paint from, since the weather was misty.
The view went from this:

We can move in fog but we hate it. Wise Kimba decided our bunk was the place to be.

While I waited for the washing machine to finish, I washed my hair, which felt very luxurious although it didn't dry until the fog lifted, and I painted the dinghy dock while I was waiting for the dryer to be done.

I always think inflatables look like suckling piglets. Usually it's more of a mix of types of dinghies, but Northeast is full of expensive boats and the fishermen's dinghies have their own dock.
