We spend part of every summer on our sailboat, cruising the Maine coast. Once, our middle son was bouldering along the left hand island in this painting when the large sheet of granite that he was clinging to broke off!  He and the rock face fell into the water together.  It was a miracle that he wasn't killed.  Cruising is full of near misses!
